Life is Short And So is This Book

Life is short. You can, if you work hard and are lucky, get more of almost anything, but you can’t get more time. Time only goes one way. The average American has a lifespan of less than 30,000 days. So how you choose to live matters.
That’s the topic of this book. I don’t pretend to have all the answers. I’m still learning every day, and many of the good ideas here I’ve picked up from other people either directly or by reading. But this is what’s worked for me.

Like life, this book is short. Many books I read could communicate their ideas in fewer pages. So I’ve tried to be brief in line with the wise person who noted: “If I’d had more time I would have written a shorter letter”.

The 5 Levels of Leadership – Book Excerpts

Being a leader is more than just having a title.

You can become a leader by progressing through five levels of influence.

The first level is when people follow you because of your title. The last level is when people follow you because of your record of developing new leaders and great organizations.

The Psychology of Money – Book Excerpts

“Less ego, more wealth. Saving money is the gap between your ego and your income, and wealth is what you don’t see. So wealth is created by suppressing what you could buy today in order to have more stuff or more options in the future. No matter how much you earn, you will never build wealth unless you can put a lid on how much fun you can have with your money right now, today.” –Morgan Housel
